Anil Sehgal Ph.D.
Dr. Sehgal has extensive experience in business development, technology evaluation,
market research and licensing in biotechnology and pharma. His broad and deep
knowledge of the life sciences supports his ability to rapidly and accurately
assess which technologies are viable in the current market place and to discern
the ideal licensing and partnering opportunities.
He has over 10 years of combined experience in industry and academics
in cancer molecular biology, cell biology, drug discovery, and drug,
assay and therapeutics product development. Most recently he served
as Director for molecular biology at a Silicon Valley biotechnology
company. Dr. Sehgal is also a technical and content writer for market
and research based reports for international clients and is a provider
of expert opinion to scientific advisory boards. He has published
over 20 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented
work in over 40 national and international conferences. He also holds
several patents in the area of cancer biology.
Research work has included gene discovery and cancer vaccine programs
at the Department of Neurological Surgery at UCSF in San Francisco,
identification of molecular gene targets for cancer therapy at the
Pacific Northwest Cancer Foundation, and post-doctoral research as
a cell and molecular biologist at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Sehgal obtained his Ph.D. in 1994 from Old Dominion and Eastern
Virginia Medical School in Biomedical Sciences. He also holds a MS
in Biology (Biotechnology) from Old Dominion University, an M.Sc.
in Zoology (Cell Biology Specialization) and a BSc in Zoology.
